Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support production by delivering fast, effective breakdown response
• Carry out preventative maintenance across a wide range of equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
• Work on everything from tray sealers and flow wrappers to checkweighers and metal detectors
• Lead or support root cause analysis and drive long-term solutions
• Ensure all work complies with H&S standards
• Oversee and manage contractors on-site when required
• Collaborate closely with production, technical and quality teams
• Help embed lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement projects

Experience and Qualifications:

• Formal engineering qualification or completed recognised apprenticeship
• Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment
• Strong fault-finding skills – both mechanical and electrical (PLC knowledge a bonus)
• Experience with CMMS systems and confident using Microsoft Office
• Flexible, solutions-driven mindset – ready to adapt and lead when needed
• Knowledge of PUWER, COSHH, LOLER, and other H&S regulations essential
• Hands-on experience with automated packaging or process equipment is highly desirable
