About the Role
Optima is looking for a driven and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our clients of ours, who is experiencing continued growth.  

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive sales professional who thrives on building relationships, winning new business, and growing existing accounts. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales performance, increasing gross profit, and strengthening customer partnerships across the South East region.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales Growth & Customer Management
  • Build and develop strong relationships with existing customers to achieve monthly sales and gross profit targets.
  • Introduce new products and solutions to customers on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with the internal sales team to ensure excellent customer communication and follow-up.
  • Regular Face to Face meetings
  • Identify, target, and convert new business opportunities through phone calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn networking, customer visits, and product demonstrations.
Pipeline Management, Forecasting & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system, ensuring all customer interactions and opportunities are logged.
  • Prepare and submit quotations promptly, following up consistently to maximise conversion rates.
  • Produce accurate monthly sales forecasts and track performance against targets and budgets.
  • Report on sales activity, opportunities, and market developments during daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
Commercial & Team Accountability
  • Take ownership of assigned accounts, ensuring maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the EUK Sales Manager, internal sales team, and wider business to share market insights and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, persistence, and customer service at all times.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in business development, field sales, or account management.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote role.
  • Commercially driven with a focus on achieving targets and delivering results.
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel regularly.
